Last updated: 7 November 2026. You can check whether the cash that replaces free rice in Puducherry (DBT) has reached your bank account on the Civil Supplies Department’s official website, using your ration card number. The steps are below.
Latest announcement
The Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has announced that Rs 122.91 crore has been credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts in place of free rice for the six months from March to August 2026. BPL (AAY/PHH) cardholders get Rs 860 a month in place of 20 kg of rice, and APL (Non-PHH) cardholders get Rs 430 a month in place of 10 kg. See our news report for details.
How to check State DBT rice payment
- Open the department’s DBT Help Desk website. The site advises using the latest Google Chrome or Firefox.
- In the top menu choose Check Payment Status → View Payment Status (State DBT), or open the State DBT Rice page directly. The page has a “Language” switch for English or Tamil.
- Select your region under District: Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahe or Yanam.
- Type your number in the Ration Card Number box and search.
- The page shows the payment status for your card. If a payment was rejected, the site says a “Reason for Rejection” window shows the rejected reason, remedial action, possible reasons and who is responsible.
The page has no month or year selector. What it displays depends on the site’s design, which can change.
Central NFSA DBT amounts
For amounts paid through central DBT under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), use the Central DBT Payment Status (NFSA) page and enter the district and ration card number in the same way.
Checking application status
To see the status of a new ration card application or a change, use Check Status → Application Status (direct page) and enter your Application ID.

If the money has not arrived
- If the status page shows a rejection reason and remedial action, follow it.
- Our report says about 57,000 cardholders who missed payment earlier because of biometric and other problems have still not been paid, according to a complaint.
- General advice (not an official notice): check that the bank account linked to your ration card is active and your Aadhaar details are correct, and tell your local civil supplies office or fair price shop.
